Sounds of Silents Film Festival 1997-2007 Harbor Arts produced silent film screenings with original and newly written scores, performed indoors and out of doors at the Vickers Theatre. Harbor Arts was fortunate to have film history aficianado Jon Vickers who selected classic silent films and engaged musicians to create and perform original scores to these classics. Talents included pianist and composer Dave Drazin, musicians Blue Dahlia performing to the film Alias Jimmy Valentine, Dennis Scott playing the Barton Organ to The Cheat at the Acorn Theater. These many talents breathed new life into silent films and entertained audiences who had never before experienced these historical pieces. Vickers Theatre is a turn of the century film house that once brought the silents to the big screen for the town of Three Oaks. The theatre underwent extensive renovations in 1994 reopening in 1996. This uniquely restored art house offers the best in independent, foreign and revival film. The main floor and balcony gallery spaces feature a new Midwestern artist each month.
